I’m on my way back from Tanzania after an exciting trip with Andy Biggs and three other photo enthusiasts Trevor, Eric, and Pat.
We explored the northwest Serengeti National Park north of the Mara River where we are allowed to travel off road. Many elephants to be found but little sign of the big cats although we did find a leopard and cheetah.
We came across a few elephants in Lake Manyara park and with my 500mm lens attached at about 30 feet away I focused on a different photo op than what most might attempt.
Only a very fast focusing camera and lens is capable of this type of shot as the elephant was constantly moving. Lots of work but I think worth it.
